Folkestone Harbour


Among many countless examples of the decline of assorted things in the UK is Folkestone Harbour station. Once a hive of activity with freight trains being hauled off boats alongside each other along with passenger workings in and out of the station. The line is now used infrequently by charter specials. The following views are from 10th October 2006.


Above and below are views of the swing bridge immediately north of the station - the sagging cables appear to be part of the now isolated third rail supply.
