47017 waits to take over a service to Birmingham from Bristol Temple Meads.

Quite a celebrity, 47541 pauses at York with the 01:15 Newcastle - London King's Cross of 7th March 1981. Then based at Edinburgh's Haymarket depot the locomotive was equipped with both steam and electric train heating. Annoyingly the joints between the steam pipes were in good order as the boiler was working. The vehicle behind the locomotive is 86922.

A long way from it's Inverness base, 47467 powers the Sunday 14:00 Newcastle - Poole service through the suburb of Littleover, 2½ miles West of Derby on 3rd June 1984.
